Easily one of the best meals I have ever had. Excellent service, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and delicious food. I truly believe everything on this menu would have been worth trying. We got a unique bottle of wine, sweet breads (which are amazing for those who have never tried like us), mushroom appetizer, duck breast to name a few. The star of the night was the lamb shank which was falling off the bone like pastrami. I cant say enough good things. Would give 10/5 stars if I could.

I recommend calling ahead of time. Wanted to show up on Tuesday but decided to call first just in case. They told me they were fully book for the day until Thursday. Atmosphere was very laid back and easy going. I got a seat at the bar where I got to see the cooks live in action. It was awesome. Seeing how hard they worked (Especially on this electric stove/ovens) made me appreciate the food even more. The service was amazing and everyone was very friendly. You can the cook really cared about the food he was bringing out. I ordered the sweet bread for starters and for the main I had the pork. Everything was perfect, the temperature was just right, the sweet bread was well cooked and the sauce was well paired together although I would've wished a bit more of the sweet bread for the price I paid for it. The pork was also well done and paired perfectly with the carrot and ginger pur. Although my pork had a huge chunk of fat on it, would've wished for more meat instead. Portion for my main was decent. Price wise, it was a bit higher than I was expecting. The appetizer was $19 and the pork was $27. After tax and tip I paid just a little over $60 .

Fantastic food in a really interesting setting run by friendly and energetic people. They cook all their food with the same stoves and ovens that youd find in a typical home, which is a cool touch. The staff are young guys who seem to have a lot of fun together running a restaurant and cooking exquisite French Canadian food - their energy makes the meal more enjoyable. They have a chalkboard menu that changes frequently (they were adding and removing stuff during our meal even). They were excited to give recommendations for the menu and even bars to check out in the area for after dinner. We had sweet breads, asparagus salad and lamb shank. Sweet breads were fantastic and the lamb shank was flavorful and fell right off the bone - very delicious. Youd be making a mistake not going to this restaurant when in Quebec - its like dining in a chefs house.

L'Affaire est Ketchup is so much more than excellent food, it is also an entertaining experience. The decor and ambiance is sort of like arriving at a bachelor's pad for a dinner party, I saw no signs of a feminine touch at all. The mood is uplifting, fun and personal from the get go and we were actually served by one of the owners. There are 2 seatings available at 6 & 8:30 pm and reservations are definitely recommended. The menu is written in French on a chalk board and the servers go to each table and proudly and loudly explain in english or french each dish being offered and believe me this is very entertaining. We had two appetizers, fried local mushrooms and a mozzarella salad and two mains, one scallops and the other bison. Everything came in perfect portions and each one was plate licking delicious, there was not a speck left on any of our plates.A really fun evening and I highly recommend L'Affaire est Ketchup.

Food is good, a bit pricey pricey, but worth it - we spent around CAN100 for a couple people, no wine. This is a quite hipster place, there is no menu to read (everything is explained by the server) and overall the place is comfortable and team is polite. The only reason for a 4 and not 5, is the unknown rule to seat guests. We were seated at the very first table and saw many people being said that there weren't seats for that day if they didn't have a reservation, but also saw the opposite for other people in the same situation. I think I did notice some standards on the clientele, but would avoid make a statement about it. I guess they want to be the cool place around.
